Dear Christian,

What I believe is simple, but it is everything. I believe that God speaks to us through his Word—not to shame us, but to tell us the truth about our sin and, even more, the truth about our Savior. I believe that on our own we are lost and unable to make ourselves right with God. But God did not leave us there.

In love, he sent his Son, Jesus Christ, to live for us, to die for us, and to rise again for us. Jesus took our sin as his own and gives us his righteousness in return. For his sake, our sins are forgiven completely. Our guilt is gone. Our standing with God is secure.

I believe that this salvation is God’s work alone. It is given by grace alone and received through faith alone—a faith the Holy Spirit creates and strengthens through the gospel. This means we don’t have to wonder if we’ve done enough or loved God well enough. In Christ, we can live with confidence. Confidence that we are forgiven. Confidence that we are loved. Confidence that we belong to God now and forever.

That is the heartbeat of Christian, Dear and everything you’ll find on this website. And that is the good news I want to share with you again and again.
